Golden Gate Capital’s success is contingent upon the strength and performance of its portfolio companies. To that end, our portfolio companies regularly engage industry professionals as Operating Executives or other consultants to help identify potential investment opportunities, assist in conducting due diligence on prospective portfolio companies, render operational and strategic advice, and to assist portfolio company management teams after our investment to effect change in certain areas. These professionals have significant experience working hands-on with companies to drive growth and profitability. These consultants are retained directly by one or more portfolio companies either as members of a company’s management team or on a project-oriented basis, and they also frequently serve on a portfolio company’s board of directors.

Neale Attenborough

Neale Attenborough is an Operating Partner with Golden Gate Capital focused on investment opportunities in the Retail, Restaurants, and Consumer Products sectors.  Mr. Attenborough currently serves on the Boards of Red Lobster, California Pizza Kitchen, Eddie Bauer, Next Model Management, Pacific Sunwear, Payless, Questech Inc and White Flower Farms and previously served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Orchard Brands.  Prior to Golden Gate Capital, Mr. Attenborough was a Partner at Westways Ventures, an operating venture partnership focused on the consumer and health care sectors (during which time he also served as Chief Executive Officer of Medpearl, Inc. and co-founded Physician’s Dialysis LLC), and he held general management and senior marketing roles at Genesco, Boston Whaler and Northstar Navigation Technologies.  He began his career in brand management at Procter & Gamble.  Mr. Attenborough has an MBA (with Distinction) from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics (with High Honors) from the University of Michigan.

Gene Becker is an Operating Executive with Golden Gate Capital focused on investment opportunities in the Financial Services sector. Prior to joining Golden Gate Capital, Mr. Becker was Chief Executive Officer of American Bankers Insurance Company and also was CEO of American Bankers Life Assurance Company, American Reliable Insurance Company, and the Voyager Group.  Mr. Becker holds an MBA from the University of Miami and a B.A. from Biscayne College.

Stewart Bloom

Stew Bloom is an Operating Executive with Golden Gate Capital focused on the Software sector.  He is the CEO and a member of the Board of Directors of Aspect Software. Additionally, he serves as a Director of Infor. Previously, Mr. Bloom was CEO for Escalate Retail until the time of its merger transaction with RedPrairie, a supply chain solution provider. Prior to Escalate, he held positions as Vice President Americas Technology Services for Capgemini and as Senior Vice President for Mainspring. Earlier in his career, Mr. Bloom was a Partner with Ernst & Young Management Consulting following its acquisition of Distributed Systems Solutions International (DSSI), where he was a Vice President and co-founder.

Robert Kirby

Robert Kirby is an Operating Partner with Golden Gate Capital and currently serves as CEO of Atrium Windows, a Golden Gate Capital portfolio company. Mr. Kirby was previously CEO of Vi-Jon, a leading private label manufacturer in the personal care market. Prior to this Mr. Kirby was CEO of Accellent, a leading contract manufacturer in the medical device market. Earlier in Mr. Kirby’s career, he was a GM and led R&D, Global Manufacturing & Supply Chain at large cap companies, including Johnson & Johnson, Kimberly Clark and Fort James. Mr. Kirby has broad based experience in Consumer Personal Care, OTC and Medical Devices. During his 30 year career he has led large scale and complex integrations of acquisitions, implemented lean processes and driven rapid, positive change.

Christopher B. Munday is an Operating Partner with Golden Gate Capital focused on investment opportunities in the IT and Business Services sector.  Mr. Munday currently serves as Chairman and CEO of 20/20 Companies and Point 180, both Golden Gate Capital portfolio companies.  Mr. Munday spent the majority of his career in the consumer goods industry with Scott Paper and was the UK President of Tela AG when it was acquired by Kimberly-Clark (NYSE:KMB) in 1999 from Attisholz Holdings AG. Mr. Munday has an MBA and a BA in Business from Open University London and a Diploma in Marketing from Burleigh Community College.

Bernhard Nann is an Operating Executive with Golden Gate Capital focused on the software, data analytics and information services sectors.  Most recently, Mr. Nann served as Chief Executive Officer of Opera Solutions, a global provider of scalable advanced big data analytics and data science solutions.  While at Opera, Mr. Nann focused its strategy and materially improved its operations and profitability.  Prior to joining Opera, Mr. Nann served as President, Operations and Technology and Chief Technology Officer for IRI, a leading provider of big data, predictive analytics and forward-looking insights for consumer packaged goods, over-the-counter health care, retail and media companies, where he led a major transition to the next generation of enabling technology.  Prior to IRI, Mr. Nann was Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Fair Isaac Corporation (FICO).  Additionally, Mr. Nann was Founder and CEO of NAREX Inc., one of the first Software as a Service (SaaS) analytics firms, which was acquired by FICO in 2003.  Earlier in his career, Mr. Nann served as Director, International Operations and Director General, Comcred S.A. at TRW Inc

John Percival

John Percival is an Operating Executive with Golden Gate Capital focused on identifying European investment opportunities. Over the past 15 years he has led or co-invested in numerous transactions in Europe and in the US. Previously, Mr. Percival was CEO of Essex Financial Group, a leading off Wall Street investment bank specializing in the issuance of Industrial Development Bonds for investment grade companies. He was also a senior executive at Reynolds Metals Company with responsibilities for its international operations. Mr. Percival began his career as in international tax accountant with Arthur Andersen & Company. He holds a B.S degree in finance from the University of Southern Colorado.

Roy Rosas

Roy Rosas is an Operating Executive with Golden Gate Capital.  He was previously an Operating Executive with Berkshire Partners and held the position of Chief Marketing and Administrative Officer at Vi-Jon. Mr. Rosas previously led Procter & Gamble’s Oral B Developing Markets Global Business Group, co-founded Reputation Technologies, a supply chain analytics company that was acquired by Security Source, and led strategy consulting engagements at the Boston Consulting Group. He started his career as a Marketing Manager with Procter & Gamble. Mr. Rosas holds an MBA from Harvard, an M.S. from the National University of Singapore, and a B.S. in Business & Accountancy from the University of the Philippines.

Brian Slobodow is an Operating Executive with Golden Gate Capital. Mr. Slobodow currently advises the firm and portfolio companies in a broad range of supply chain and procurement issues. Prior to joining Golden Gate Capital, Mr. Slobodow held multiple leadership positions within Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products and was a Principal with A.T. Kearney. Mr. Slobodow has an MBA from the M.I.T. Sloan School of Management and a BS in Engineering from the University of Rhode Island.

He is currently the President and CEO of Williston Financial Group. Previously, Mr. Stone served as President and COO of Fidelity National Financial, Chairman and Co-CEO of Micro General, and CEO of Fidelity National Information Solutions. Additionally, he has served as Vice-Chairman of Metrocities Mortgage and Chairman of The Stone Group. He has also served on the boards of World Minerals, DigitalMap, Homegain, RedVision, Wystein Capital, and Inman News. Mr. Stone has also served as Chairman of the Santa Barbara Art Museum, Director of the Portland Art Museum, and Chairman of the Oregon State University Foundation.
